About

Hello and thanks for your interest in Beautiful Change, a research project about what ‘cultural’ and ‘social’ leaders can learn from each other.

My name is Jeanette Bain-Burnett and I’m a researcher and consultant in the fields of arts, culture, heritage and social policy. In my ‘day job’ I work for the Greater London Authority. Broadly, my work touches on issues related to social impact and cultural engagement (both terms used in their broadest sense!).

I was an Arts Council England Clore Fellow in 2014/15 and am the recipient of an award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. I am using this award to undertake a piece of research focusing on leadership in the arts and culture.

My project investigates what happens when cultural leaders work alongside leaders from the ‘social’ sector – those working in education, healthcare and social services, for instance. In particular, I’m interested in what social and cultural leaders learn from each other when they work towards a shared aim, and how this might inform others who are developing partnerships.

This blog is a space for me to share my findings and begin a conversation with others who’re  interested in similar questions. If you’d like to get in touch I’d love to hear from you – please just send me a message via the Contact page.
